These are Rules of the State of Connecticut and must be followed.

If these rules and procedures are not followed or adhered to, this can lead to the State of Connecticut revoking Preserve Status from the Woodbury-Southbury Rod & Gun Club.

Preserve Status runs from SEPTEMBER 15 to MARCH 31.

There is NO SUNDAY HUNTING.

The Preserve Status is at the MORRIS PROPERTY ONLY.

In MORRIS (at BLDG. 5) prior to hunting you must sign in the book that indicates PRESERVE STATUS LOG and ENTER THE DATE LEGIBLY and PRINT YOUR NAME LEGIBLY. THIS MUST BE DONE EVERY TIME YOU HUNT.

You must record the number of birds harvested and use the tags provided. If no birds are harvested, you still must record a zero (0). This pertains only to species such as pheasants, quail, and chukars.

If you bring any birds, pheasant, quail, or chukars to be released on Morris club property, you must record the number and species (i.e. pheasant, quail, chukars) released/ liberated and harvested.

DO NOT TAKE ANY TAGS FROM THE PRESERVE STATUS LOG WITH YOU IN THE FIELD. You do not have to tag the game immediately after shooting or harvested.

You MUST TAG THE GAME at Bldg. 5 and RECORD IT before leaving the premises.

These records are for the State of Connecticut and can be inspected at anytime by a DEP official. They must be accurate and up to date at all times. Basically you must sign in and out and record your game.

If you harvest Club stocked birds the limit is two (2) birds per day per member only.

If you release your own birds you can only harvest up to the number of birds and species that you released and recorded.

IMPORTANT The Game Warden, who is now known as the Environmental Police, was at O&G Property, Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009. No member had tagged their birds that he had interviewed.

  • YOU MUST WEAR FLOURESCENT ORANGE

The tags for O&G, Logues Farm, and Lizauskas (which you must make) must have the following information:

  • WSRG
  • Date
  • Your License Number

For those of you who hunt Morris, YOU MUST USE TAGS PROVIDED and SIGN THE PRESERVE STATUS LOG BOOK.

Be Aware that the Game Warden will possibly revisit O&G, Logues Farm, ADD Lizauskas and Morris. Have all required documentation (license, permits, buttons, tags) with you at all times.

Fish Limit Rules

Morris Pond Only Fish Limit: 5 (five) fish per day per membership card. Fish Limit: 15 (fifteen) fish total per stocking.

Fish limit stays the same at O & G.
